چکیده

The paper describes the impact of selective laser melting factors including using a nanosecond fibre laser, powers, scanning speed, and thickness layer, on relative density micro hardness Vickers IN 601 samples was studied. Selective (SLM) is commonly used powder bed fusion metal additive manufacturing (AM). Recent advances in have attracted significant industrial interest, especially for producing metallic parts. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), EDX other techniques were utilized studying effect speed power densification behaviour, microstructural evolution Inconel v alloy that processed by SLM. With VED 3200 J/mm3, scan 250 mm/s with 80 W, cracks about 79-93 µm voids (4.5 – 5.7) diameter realised. Moreover, best 394 HV attained W power. However, increasing energy to more than required values increased porosity decreased hardness. Using microsecond SLM leads achievement full (almost 99.5%), whereas allows less (75-95%), which will be very useful functions require porous structure weight, such as those aerospace applications, automotive industry so on.

Bioresorbable Implants using Selective Laser Melting

Using bioresorbable materials implants can be manufactured which dissolve in the human body and are replaced by natural bone structure. For large implants an interconnecting porous structure needs to be integrated in the implant for a good vascularisation. Using additive manufacturing technology these internal structures can be directly manufactured. The structure can be designed by consequent ...

Modeling of selective laser sintering/selective laser melting

Selective laser sintering and selective laser melting are powder based additive manufacturing (AM) process that can rapidly manufacture parts with comparable mechanical properties to conventional manufacturing methods directly from digital files. However, the processing recipe development and design optimization of AM parts are often based on trial and error which erodes the benefit of AM. Mode...

Influence of Scanning Strategies on Processing of Aluminum Alloy EN AW 2618 Using Selective Laser Melting

This paper deals with various selective laser melting (SLM) processing strategies for aluminum 2618 powder in order to get material densities and properties close to conventionally-produced, high-strength 2618 alloy. To evaluate the influence of laser scanning strategies on the resulting porosity and mechanical properties a row of experiments was done. Three types of samples were used: single-t...

Fabrication of Fe-Cr-Al Oxide Dispersion Strengthened PM2000 alloy using Selective Laser Melting**

The expansion in application of the selective laser melting (SLM) process for fabrication of new alloy materials continues. However, to date, there has been no investigation of the effect of this process on the final microstructure of ‘melt sensitive’ powder alloys such as mechanically alloyed oxide dispersion strengthened (ODS) FeCrAl. In this study commercial PM2000 powder, a ferritic ODS all...
